UL FME student wins first prize at the International student competition in mathematics

Lovro Drofenik, a 1st year student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, won the first prize at the 29th International Mathematics Student Competition in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.

The competition in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, took place from 1 to 7 August. 168 students participated live in the competition. 13 of them represented Slovenia (six from the UL Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Lovro Drofenik from the UL Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and six students from the University of Primorska), while 499 participated in the distance competition.
Lovro Drofenik was the second best in Slovenian delegation. The students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics won six prizes (two first prizes, two second prizes and two third prizes), the students from the University of Primorska won one third prize and three commendations, and one student from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering won first prize.
